How to Apply for and Check the Print Status of the Rastriya Parichaya Patra
Applying for the Rastriya Parichaya Patra is a straightforward process. This quick guide is only for those who have obtained citizenship from Kathmandu. Follow these steps to apply and check the print status:
1. Fill out the Online Application Form
The first step to getting your Rastriya Parichaya Patra is to fill out the online application form. Simply visit the official website and click on “Login For Individuals.” Enter your mobile number, and you will receive an OTP via SMS. Then click on “New Enrollment.”
After that, click on “New Enrollment” again. Please note that you will need to type in Nepali. If you’re unsure about typing in Nepali, you can download a Nepali keyboard layout here.
2. Application Form
Be sure to download and review the form to understand the required information.

Note: The form must be filled out online.
3. Book an Appointment
Next, choose the DAO (District Administration Office) Kathmandu. If you encounter any errors, simply click on the available date. Then click on “Search,” select your preferred date and time, and click “Submit.”
4. Print the File
Once your appointment is confirmed, you will need to print the PDF file. Take this printed document along with your original Citizenship certificate, Passport (if applicable), and Marriage certificate (if married) to the CDO office in Kathmandu.
5. Submit Documents at the CDO Office
Go to Room No. 123 (as shown in the image) and submit your printed A4 paper (printed on point 3) along with the original Citizenship, Passport (optional), and Marriage certificate (if applicable). If you have migrated from another location to Kathmandu, you may also need to provide your Basai Sarai paper.
6. Photograph and Rastriya Parichaya Patra
Next, head to Room No. 135, where they will take your photograph. Afterward, you will receive the Rastriya Parichaya Patra printout. You will also receive an SMS notification once the process is complete.
7. Check the Print Status of Your Rastriya Parichaya Patra
To check the print status of your Rastriya Parichaya Patra, visit this website. Enter your application number, Rastriya Parichaya Patra number, and CAPTCHA code. You will receive these details after successfully submitting your documents.
8. Collect Your Rastriya Parichaya Patra
To collect your Rastriya Parichaya Patra, you will need to visit the CDO office (or the location where you submitted your form) along with the printed paper provided by the office. In the CDO office in Kathmandu, you will need to go to Room No. 122 (as marked in point 6). Be prepared for a potentially long queue, as it can take time to process all the applicants.
Note: You will be required to set a 4-digit PIN and provide a fingerprint (so that other people cannot take the card on your behalf).
