The UCPN (Maoist) led 30-party alliance on Saturday demonstrated by wearing black bands in the capital city, demanding consensus based constitution.
In the demonstration, the leaders of the opposition parties called for expediting the constitution writing process based on the 12-point agreement, the Interim Constitution of Nepal 2063, Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and agreements held in the successive periods leading up to the current political stalemate.
The opponent parties demonstrated as the ruling parties chose to find a solution through the voting process, organizers said.
The agitation was participated by the cadres of UCPN (Maoist), Madhes-centric parties, organizations affiliated to the indigenous nationalities´ led by Padma Ratna Tuladhar, according to UCPN (Maoist) politburo member Jhaku Prasad Subedi.
He added the opposition parties´ demonstration was launched across the country to pile press on the ruling parties for a consensual constitution.
