UCPN (M) leader Bogati’s health condition critical

UCPN (Maoist) vice-chair Posta Bahadur Bogati’s health condition is critical, the team of doctors involved in his treatment at the Norvic International Hospital said on Sunday.

Bogati was hooked to a ventilator and was given other life-supporting medications, according to a statement issued Sunday by the hospital.

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and senior leaders of other parties visited the hospital to enquire about Bogati’s health on Sunday.

62-year old Bogati was admitted to Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre on Thursday after suffering from heart-attack and brain-haemorrhage, at once. He was referred to Norvic International Hospital after development of further complications in his health.

There was intense haemorrhaging in the left side of his brain and the right side of his body was paralysed, the statement said.

A team of doctors, led by Senior Interventional Cardiologist (Specialist) Prof Dr Yadav Dev Bhatta, comprising Neurology Specialist Dr Pankaj Jalan and Senior Respiratory and Chest Diseases Specialist Dr Ramesh Chokhani, was administering Bogati’s treatment.

Also Senior Interventional Cardiologist (Specialist), Head of Cardiology Department, Dr Bharat Rawat; Senior Neuro-Surgeon Dr. Basant Pant and Senior Neurology Specialist Dr Jagdish Agarawal were involved in the UCPN (M) leader’s treatment.
