Two girls commit suicide after failing SLC exams

Two girls have committed suicide in Ilam and Palpa districts after failing School Leaving Certificate (SLC) supplementary examinations.

According to police, 19-year-old Laxmi Katuwal of Ilam-9, Barhabasti hanged herself to death after she failed in the exams.

Police Inspector Yam Poudel quoting the family members said that Katuwal turned sad soon after knowing her results. He further informed that the dead body was found hanging from the house’s beam with a shawl at around 8: 20 pm on Sunday.

Likewise, a girl committed suicide in Palpa district after she failed in the exams.

The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Telana Basyal of Barandi VDC-9 in Palpa district.

Police claimed that Basyal committed suicide after she failed in mathematics. She committed suicide by hanging from a tree.
