The transport entrepreneurs have agreed to scrap the syndicate system adopted by the truck entrepreneurs.
The system was scrapped after the meeting held among industrialists, entrepreneurs and suppliers agreed to provide Rs 22,000 to Rs 24,000 for supplying 10 tonnes of goods as per the demand of the truck entrepreneurs. The meeting was called at the initiative of the district Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The meeting was held among the Western Transport Entrepreneurs’ Committee, Lumbini Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Association, and Western Cement Producers’ Association.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached not to provide and charge more than Rs 24,000 as transport fair from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu.
General Secretary of the Paschimanchal Cement Producers’ Association, Bidur Dhungana, said artificial shortage of truck would be eliminated once the agreement was implemented.
