A massive earthquake of 7.9 magnitudes has struck Nepal causing widespread destruction. Travel World Experiences are trying to make a positive difference through the actions on the community during this tragic moment in Nepal.
During this tragic situation, TWX embraces to support Bamboo School of Bhaktapur. Samata Sikshya Niketan, the first bamboo school in Nepal established in 2001 with the aim of providing quality education to the underprivileged children. The school has over 1450 students from the primary school to the class 10 and they come here all over from the 75 districts. School is open to anyone who is seeking an education, but can’t afford the exorbitant prices at most schools available in the city. The school believe in encouraging students to explore their skills and personalities with the education.
Bamboo School students has also been affected, destroyed and suffered with no exception from this catastrophic earthquake. The earthquake has done significant damage not just to the school but to the students’ residents rendering many students homeless. These students are in dire need of food, shelter and other basic resources.
Through this initiative, TWX provides post earthquake relief to students who have lost their homes and family members. TWX initiated the Earthquake Relief Campaign to distribute tents to the affected homeless students of school. Tents were provided to the parents who were badly affected from the disastrous earthquake. Most of the students studying there are from earthquake most affected districts: Sindhupalchowk, Gorkha, Nuwakot, Nagarkot and others. This campaign resumed from June 7 to June 9, 2015. During this 03 Days relief campaign; TWX distributed more than 600 tents which will cover over 1450 students of school. Tents were also distributed among staffs, teachers and other affected people of schools. All the TWX Nepal staffs were actively involved in the distribution of tents, support and help on this noble cause.
