Three robberies reported in two days

Three incidents of robbery have been reported in the Kathmandu Valley in two days. 

Property worth Rs 2.32 lakh was stolen from a rented room of Lhamu Lama in Tinchule, Boudha, Kathmandu at around 1am this morning. A gang of four to five masked persons barged into the room, threatened Lama brandishing a khukuri and took away Rs one lakh in cash and gold ornaments, police said. Likewise, Sunita Rana, 57, of Sanepa was robbed of Rs 1.50 lakh in cash in Harihar Bhawan, Lalitpur, yesterday. Rana was robbed of the cash while she was approaching her vehicle after withdrawing money from Himalayan Bank at around 2pm, said police. 

Police officials informed that a youth, around 18 years in age, first threw some dirt on her clothes and robbed her bag containing cash, which she had put on a table of a hardware shop to clean herself. 

In another incident, Basant Pandit, Manager of the Om Finance Company, was robbed of a bag containing Rs 1.30 lakh from his car (Ba 6 Cha 7647) parked in front of the Company at Kumaripati, Lalitpur, yesterday. 

According to police, an unidentified person told the car driver that he had dropped the money outside the car. While the driver was picking the money, the person snatched the bag containing cash and other documents at around 3:30pm. Police said they are searching for the suspects involved in all cases.
