Three dead as bus veers off road

Three passengers were killed and 16 others injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Nijgadh-Pathlaiya road section of Bara district on wee hours of Tuesday.

The ill-fated passenger bus, Na 4 Kha 4516 of Angels Travels, en route to Malanga from Kathmandu, veered off the road near Pasaha at around 5 am today.

The deceased have been identified as Akhal Giri, 45, his wife Bhawana Giri, 45 of Brahmapuri-5, Sarlahi, and Laxmi Paswan, 20, of Lalbandi, Sarlahi, informed Mid-regional Traffic Police Office, Pathlaiya.

Of the injured 16, three are in critical condition, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, four passengers, Dhirendra Prasad Sah, Sudesh Kumar Chaudhary, Mohammed manamik Rani of Salyanpur-8, Sarlahi and one Indian national Keshar Ansari who were injured during the accident are receiving medical treatment at Simara-based hospital and the rest at the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital, police added.
