Teachers suspended for sexually abusing students

Three teachers of the Devchuli Higher Secondary School in Rajahar of the district have been suspended on charge of sexually abusing two girl students of the school.

The victims were staying in the school’s hostel to prepare for the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams from August.

Teachers Khimananda Ghorsaini, Govinda Paudel and Hemanta Thapa have been suspended to help the police personnel to investigate fairly into the incident, principal Dev Raj Paudel informed.

Ghorsaini and Thapa had been living in the school hostel while Paudel used to give tuition classes for the students.

As many as 125 students have been staying in the hostel.

The accused have, however, denied the allegations.

Following the incident, school management committee has deferred an examination scheduled for Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Area Police Office, Kawasoti has taken all the accused teachers under control for investigation.

School vandalised

Students also vandalised the school infrastructure demanding severe punishment to the teachers yesterday.

According to Inspector Hari Baruwal, a clash was ensued between the students and police personnel after the latter tried to take the mob under control.
