The 21st Subisu CAN Info-Tech 2015 is scheduled to start at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu from January 28 to February 2, 2015.
Organising a press conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, Computer Association of Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) said the main aim of organising the annual event was to disseminate the information regarding the latest development in ICT from around the globe.
This edition of the annual technology fair, organised in association with Dell-Intel by Neoteric Nepal, will feature 219 stalls for companies offering hardware sales and maintenance, power solutions, mobile phone accessories, dealers and distributors, telecommunication and internet service providers, ICT colleges and training institutes, software solutions, and payment solutions, among other, according to CAN Federation.
All the stalls at the main exhibition hall have already been booked, CAN Federation secretary Sunaina Ghimire Pandey said at Wednesday’s press conference. She said that 90 percent of the stalls outside the hall had also been booked.
The organiser expects over 450,000 visitors at this fair. CAN Federation registered a footfall of 431,350 visitors in last year’s edition, it said.
CAN Federation has raised the ticket prices to Rs 150 per head for general public and Rs 100 for students from Rs 100 for general public and Rs 50 for students of last year.
CAN Federation president Binod Dhakal said the exhibition area operators had raised the rent so the organiser had to follow suit and revise ticket prices.
“The government has hiked the exhibition area’s rental fee by 40 percent,” Dhakal said.
The tickets can also be bought online for a discount of 20 percent, according to CAN Federation.
Meanwhile, CAN Federation will also hold the Subisu ICT Conference 2015 on the sidelines of the fair from February 1 and 2 at Hotel Everest, New Baneshwar, Kathmandu. The theme for this year’s conference is “Information Communication Technology for Development and Social Transformation.”
During the conference, experts from home and abroad will present working papers under the topics — ICTD, Public Service Delivery and Government Transformation, Knowledge Based Industry and Employment, Professional Skill Development for ICT4D, said the organiser.
