The body of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Laxman Neupane, who lost his life in Tikapur clash, is being brought in helicopter to the capital for final rites.
SSP Neupane’s family, who lives at Sinamangal, is making preparation for his final rites. According to his family sources, his final rites will be held at Pashupati Aryaghat today itself.
The bodies of the other security personnel are being kept in Kailali as they come that area.
Eight people including SSP Neupane and a two-year-old minor were killed in the clash with Tharuhat demonstrators yesterday.
The district administration has clamped curfew indefinitely in Tikapur municipality including other six VDCs in Kailali district. Following the Tikapur incident, the government declared Kailali and Rautahat districts as conflict zones. With the declaration of conflict zones, Nepal Army personnel have also been deployed to the areas under the command of chief district officers of the respective districts.
