Singer Sugam Pokharel and other performers to sue concert organizers

Singer Sugam Pokharel held a press conference last Friday claiming that he was not paid for his work in a concert. Therefore, the singer will be filing a case against organizers Hari Sharan Mahat and Raj Kumar Patel if they fail to pay him for his work. The organizers had arranged a 15-day musical concert, Wide Event Nepal Tour 2071, from June 3 to June 15. Among the other participating actors and singers were Sushma Karki, Kamal Khatri, Prakash Katwal, Yuvraj Chaulagain, Sambhoj Malla, Rupak Dotel, Aakanshya Bashyal, Surjani KC, Bunu Rai Manandhar, Ramesh Dulal, Samjhana Lamichhane Magar, Nikesh Maharjan, and Narayan Prasad Dhungana. The concert was held in Damak, Itahari, Dharan, and Biratnagar. The organizers owe around Rs 1.4 million (14 lakhs) to these artists. “After we returned from this 15-day concert tour, the organizers set various dates for our payments. They are currently out of touch and they owe me Rs 100,000 (one lakh). We’ve given them an ultimatum to pay us within 48 hours, failing which we’ll go the legal way. We’ve informed the organizers of our decision,” Pokharel stated. Source: Republica
