A Simrik Air helicopter caught fire after landing at Sanagaun of Gorkha district on Monday.
According to DSP Arjun Chand of Gorkha District Police office, the chopper caught fire as soon as the passengers and crew members got off the helicopter. All five members onboard the chopper are said to be safe.
“The reason behind the fire has not been known. A police rescue team has been sent to the incident site,” Chand said. The site is on 90 minutes walk from district headquarters.
The chopper had arrived in the district for campaign to clean drinking water.
An official at Simrik Air said that they are gathering full information regarding the matter. The official informed that another helicopter has been sent to the location to assess the details.
