Locals shut down the market area in Simara of Bara on Friday demanding establishment of Land Revenue Office and Land Survey Office in the town.
They have warned of extending the shutdown to an indefinite period if their demands were not met.
Transportation , market area and industries were affected due to the protests since Friday morning.
Protestors clashed with police after the cops tried to use force to control the demonstration.
Police have taken eight protestors under their control following the clash.
The locals had shut down the market yesterday also.
Locals of 12 VDCs around Simara had started protests after the government revoked its decision to establish Land Revenue Office and Land Survey Office in Simara, due to intense protests in Kalaiya, Bara district headquarters.
“The decision of establishing Land Revenue Office and Land Survey Office in Simara should be implemented as it is the most convenient place for the locals,” said Krishna Paudel, a member of Land Revenue Office Establishment Concern Committee.
