The 6th meeting of the Home Ministers, Home Secretaries and Immigration Officials of the SAARC member countries is beginning on Wednesday.
The three-day event will begin with a meeting of the immigration officials followed by the SAARC home secretary-level meeting on Thursday and SAARC home minister-level meeting on Friday, according to the Home Ministry.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala is scheduled to inaugurate the SAARC home minister-level meeting on Friday.
The meeting has been taking place regularly since 2006 with a focus on the enforcement of the commitments made in the SAARC Summits including among others on control of terrorism, narcotics trade, human trafficking, corruption and cyber crimes.
The meeting preparation committee formed under the headship of Home Ministry Spokesperson and Joint Secretary Laxmi Prasad Dhakal has completed all necessary preparations for holding the meeting successfully, said the Ministry.
