Rs 20‚000 fine in case buses overload passengers

Considering frequent road accidents across the nation, transporters in Rukum have introduced new rules for the night buses.

According to the new rules implemented by Sisne Bus and Minibus Transport Entrepreneurs Committee, night buses should not carry more passengers than their capacity. Passengers on the hood are also not allowed.

“In case they are found violating the rules, they will be fined Rs 20,000,” said Mahendra Buda, Chairperson of the Committee. “Besides, the staff who issue tickets more than the capacity will be suspended.”

“Two drivers must be there on a long-route bus,” said Sayadhan Budha, coordinator of monitoring team of the Committee.

The team has been monitoring if the rules are properly implemented.
