The tenth edition of Chitwan Festival will showcase products from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries.
According to Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the organizer of the event, the expo will have an international pavilion displaying products from SAARC countries.
Kalyan Joshi, coordinator of the festival, said preparations for the event, which is being organized from January 9 to 18, have already begun. “Products from SAARC countries will be the special attraction of the expo,” he added.
Products made in SAARC countries like automobiles, apparels, food items, and electronics and accessories will be exhibited in the international pavilion. The expo will have a total of 450 stalls.
Rasik Pradhan, executive director of the CCCI, said 200 stalls have already been booked. Like the previous edition, banana and banana products will be promoted at the expo under one village, one product program (OVOP).
Banana farming has been promoted in the district under OVOP program.
The expo will feature four pavilions — agricultural, dairy, electronics and international.
The organizers are hopeful of recording Rs 15 million worth of transactions during the 10-day event. The festival is expected to draw around 500,000 visitiors.
Various entertainment and cultural programs will also be organized at the sidelines of the festival, according to the organizers.
