The swollen Murti River of Rampur, Udayapur triggered by the heavy rainfall last night, has disrupted power supply and damaged local roads, throwing the locals’ life out of gear.
The power supply was completely disrupted since the flood swept away electricity supply poles.
According to Sub-Inspector of Area Police Office, Rampur, Diwakar Katuwal, one person was found dead. He might have been swept away by the swollen river.
The deceased was Naindra Rai, also known as Nir Bahadur Rai (49) from Katunjebabala-7, Udayapur.
Police said it has been difficult to take dead body to the hospital for post mortem due to road damage.
Meanwhile, Electricity Office, Gaighat, informed that as the road was damaged, the Office staff could not reach the concerned area to do needful for resuming power supply.
