Police, Smugglers exchange fire

Police persons from Zonal Police Office, Narayani, and drug smugglers have opened firings at each other at Sugauli Birta VDC in Parsa district on Monday, December 15, 2014.

The two sides exchanged fire Monday morning as the police tried to take the smugglers under control, acting on a tipoff.

The smugglers were trying to supply contraband drugs ‘charas’ to India.

Police responded with nine-rounds of fire as the smugglers made 25 rounds of firing. However, no casualty was reported, says Deputy Superintendent of Police, Arun Kushbaha.

Finally, the smugglers left around 400 kgs of charas and fled the scene.
