Police fire in air in Jumla

Political parties, in agitation since eight days demanding autonomous Karnali province, removed boards of government offices on Sunday.

Khalanga, the district headquarters, is tense after police opened 12 rounds of blank fire as protesters tried to remove the board of District Police Office.

The Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist has taken the command of protest today.

Agitators have removed boards of all government offices expect District Administation Office and District Police Office.
