A group of 18 trekkers stranded at a confluence of Kerauja in Manaslu region of Gorkha district have been rescued by helicopter.
The youths stranded since the past two days have been airlifted and dropped at Sirdibas, DSP Arjun Chand informed. They were left in lurch after their path was blocked by landslides from both sides following Tuesday’s earthquake.
“They were dropped at Sirdibas because they have to go to the northern Gorkha,” he added. The youths had gone to northern Gorkha for relief and rescue operation.
Meanwhile, two people buried under the landslide were rescued from Baluwa on the way to Barpak, the epicenter of the April 25. The duo identified as mother and daughter were buried in the landslide triggered by earthquake. They were found dead.
