Nepal has invited online applications from interested media persons from SAARC member states in a bid to facilitate foreign journalists covering the 18th SAARC Summit being held in Kathmandu next month.
Officials at the Department of Information (DoI) said interested journalists based in SAARC member states can apply online at their official website — www.doinepal.gov.np –till November 20. Media representatives are required to type the authentication code given and submit Media Accreditation form.
According to DoI, concerned media representatives need to upload copies of a letter of assignment on official letterhead of a media organization by the publisher or editor-in-chief, a recommendation letter from their respective Ministry of Information and Communications, a recent passport size photograph and, the applicant´s identity card and a list of equipment that media representative intend to bring to Nepal.
Those media persons duly applying online and receiving email confirmation of their accreditation can obtain media press pass from Media Facilitation Desk at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon their arrival in Kathmandu or from the Department of Information until November 21 or from the Media Liaison Office that DoI intends to set up at Hotel Radisson, Lazimpat.
Media persons will be required to present an original letter of assignment/ recommendation from their concerned media house, valid passport or national identity document such as press card, work identity card, driver´s license or other form of photo identity card while picking up the media pass.
