West Regional Administration Office, Pokhara on Tuesday directed six Road Division Offices of the Western Development Region to remove structures built by encroaching road areas at the earliest.
Western Regional Administrator Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that the directive has been issued in a bid to control road accidents and encroachment.
He said that a three-point letter has been sent to the offices of Road Divison Regional Directorate and Kaski, Palpa, Baglung, Tanahun and Kapilvastu Road Division Offices.
According to Public Roads Act, 1974, no one can build any structure in public lands.
Thapaliya said that the directive has been issued after a road monitoring team found road encroachment in various parts of Pokhara.
Similarly, the Regional Office has also directed to remove hoarding boards and signboards from the groceries.
