NT launches festival discounts

Nepal Telecom (NT), on Sunday, announced different discount schemes in its voice and data services on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals. The festival discount ranges from 10 per cent discount on calls to 50 per cent on SMS.

NT said that there will be 10 per cent discount on calls made within its network from GSM and CDMA mobiles for the period of September 29 to October 7, and October 21 to October 30, respectively. This means customers will be able to make calls at Re 0.90 per minute from postpaid and at Rs 1.35 from prepaid mobile.

For the same period, the company will provide SMS service at Re 0.50 per SMS within the company network. For data

service, customers will be able to browse GPRS and 3G internet at Re 0.50 per MB and at Re 0.40 per MB in 1X and CDMA. Customers whose validity period for volume based data service expires for ADSL and WiMax during Dashain, will get maximum 3GB additional data with a validity period till October 7.

Customers whose validity period of data service expires during Tihar and Chhath, will get extra 3GB data with validity period up to October 30, according to a press release issued by NT. As for customers using unlimited data service, validity time will be extended till October 10 for those whose validity expires during Dashain. Likewise, validity time will be extended up to October 30 for customers whose unlimited internet service validity expires before October 29 during Tihar and Chhath.

For CDMA customers, the company has decided to provide bonus ranging from 10-20 per cent in each recharge. During the scheme period, customers using CDMA will get a bonus of Rs 20 in each recharge of Rs 200, Rs 75 on Rs 500 and Rs 200 on recharge of Rs 1,000. Validity period of the bonus will be for a maximum of two days.

For PSTN and C-phone (post paid fixed) users, NT has decided to provide additional 100 free calls for a minimum monthly payment of Rs 200 for two months — Ashwin (mid-September to mid-October) and Kartik (mid-October to mid-November). Normally, customers get 175 calls for the minimum monthly payment.
