The Government of Norway has decided to provide NOK 100 million for earthquake relief in Nepal. This is in addition to the NOK 30 million it pledged earlier.
“This means that Norway’s total support for the response to the earthquake disaster in Nepal comes to NOK 130 million which is equivalent to approximately 17.1 million US dollars,” read a press statement by Norwegian Prime Minister Ema Solberg. “There is a huge need for assistance both in the short and the long term.”
Earlier, Norway had sent in 34 aid workers and five rescue dogs to Kathmandu.
