NOC officials accused of petro theft in CIAA custody

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today detained Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC)’s Western Regional officials, who are accussed of theft of petroleum products and inflicting loss to NOC, after they failed to post a bail. 

According to the CIAA, during an investigation it had found evidences of the involvement of regional manager at NOC’s Bhalbari Depot Nagendra Kumar Kurmi, manager Dipendra Basnet, and assistant manager Ravin Kumar Raut in theft of petroleum products imported from the Indian Oil Corporation’s Betalpur Depot to the Nepali side at Bhalbari in Rupandehi district.

The trio were taken in custody after they failed to post bail, the CIAA said in a statement.
