No Nepali was killed or injured in a fatal fire that broke out in Abu Dhabi of United Arab Emirates yesterday, the Nepali Embassy in the UAE said.
Netra Bahadur Tandan, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy, told THT Online over phone that the mission did not receive any report about Nepali migrant workers falling victim in the incident, which killed at least 10 foreign workers.
Many Nepalis, however, lived in the Musaffah district where the incident occurred, he said.
The building housed a tire shop and a hostel for about 100 migrant workers of different nationalities, reports said.
It has been learnt that most of them were from South Asian countries including Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.
At least eight people were injured in the massive fire.
