General Secretary of the CPN-UML, Ishwor Pokhrel, said that there was no need of more than six provinces along with common identity.
At a programme organized by Party´s Nagarkot Village Committee this morning, Pokhrel said six provinces would be suitable for the country as it could not sustain administrative management of more than six provinces.
He said the ethnic-based federalism has the possibility of pushing the country towards ethnic uprising.
Stating that political parties still lack consensus on the issue of federalism, the UML General Secretary said there was no alternative to go for due process of the Constituent Assembly (CA) if consensus could not forged in a meeting scheduled for October 26.
Different festivals having various specialties in the country have united all, he added. On the occasion, lawmaker Mira Dhwaju said lawmakers have been exerting pressure to the major three political parties to bring the new constitution on the slated time.
Different people including Bhaktapur District Chairman of the CPN-UML, Rajendra Rajthala, Secretary Harisharan Lamichhane and CPN-UML Nagarkot Village Committee Chairman, Bishnu Tamang, stressed on the need of promulgating the new constitution on January 22, 2015 at any cost. RSS
