Nepal’s first practice match against Oman ends with no results

Nepal’s first official practice match, prior to the World T20 Qualifiers, against Oman ended without any result as rain interrupted the play at Stormont, Belfast on Monday.

Invited to bat first, Oman had made 115/4 in 16.3 overs before the play was suspended due to rain. Based on the DL method, Nepal received a revised target of 126 runs in 16 overs.

In reply, Nepal made six runs in 0.3 overs when the play was suspended for the second time. Subas Khakurel (5) and Sagar Pun were on the crease.

In previous two T20I encounters with Oman, Nepal had won once and lost twice.

Nepal traveled to Ireland from the Netherlands where they played four-match T20I series.

Nepal are set to take on the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday at the same venue in their second and final practice match.

Nepal are in Group A alongside Ireland, Hong Kong, Jersey, Namibia, PNG and the USA.

Group B features Afghanistan, Canada, Kenya, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland and the UAE. The top six teams will join 10 Full Members in the ICC World T20 slated for March 11 to April 3 next year in India.

KATHMANDU: Oman have posted a target of 126 runs in 16 overs for Nepal their first official practice match, prior to the World T20 Qualifiers, at Stormont, Belfast on Monday.

Before rain interrupted the first innings, Oman had scored 115/4 in 16.3 overs.

Nepal received the revised target of 126 runs under the DL method.

In reply, Nepal made 6-0 in 0.3 overs before the play was suspended for the second time.

Subas Khakurel (5) and Sagar Pun were playing.
