Two Nepali youths on a world cycle tour, to spread the identity of Nepal, have arrived in Japan.
Lokbandhu Karki of Taplejung and Janardan Khanal of Kavre district were seen in the streets of Tokyo with Nepali flags and dressed in Daura Suruwal on Thursday. They said that their objective of the world cycle tour was to introduce Nepal as the country of the world’s tallest mountain Sagarmatha and of world peace to the world.
Their world cycle tour began on 7 December 2004 and so far they have already cycled to 116 countries. The cyclist duo plan to visit the remaining countries in the next two years. By then they hope that Nepal would in fact be known as a peaceful and beautiful country by doing away with the political violence rife in the country.
In course of their tour, they talk to thousands of people about Nepal and inform them about their country. They said they arrived here through Taiwan, Macau and China, and their next destination is Russia and Ukraine.
Lokbandhu and Janardan have targeted to complete their world journey on a bicycle by the end of 2017.
