Nepali actors Sunil Thapa and Pujana Pradhan will be taking part in the Global Movie Fest, which is scheduled to be held in San Franscisco, USA, in early August. This is the first occasion the Federation of Indo Americans—which has been conducting the fest ival since the last 21 years—is seeing participation from Nepal. The fest ival will run from August 7 to 16.
“The participation of Thapa and Pradhan is already fixed while Nepali feature films like Chocolate and Tata Bye Bye will be taking part in the Fest,” says Prakash Thapa, who is the Chairperson of Gorkha International Group America. Thapa was recently appointed as the Global Director of the Federation. “I hope the participation of Nepali films in the fest ival will go on to promote our films in the international arena,” he added.
The fest ival will see the participation of films from more than 30 countries across the world. A total of 400 films will be screened during the fest ival, among which the best one will be selected by a panel of judges from 15 countries.
