Nepal to mark 60th anniv of Nepal-China relations

A Cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar on Monday has decided to form a high level committee under the Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey to mark the 60th Anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations.

According to Minister for Information and Communications Minendra Rijal, both the countries are planning to mark the anniversary with various programs to make it a grand success. It is expected that a high level visit from either presidential or prime ministerial is likely to Nepal within 2015.

The meeting held at Singha Durbar decided to assign Residential Ambassador of Nepal to Canada, Kali Prasad Pokharel, as a permanent representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization, said Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Minendra Rijal. Similarly, the government has also appointed Joint-Secretary at the Forests and Soil Conservation, Krishna Prasad Acharya, to the post of Director of the Nepal Timber Corporation Ltd Nepal and Birendra Kumar Yadav to the post of General Manager until additional arrangements are made.

The meeting also appointed Gopal Babahdur Khadka to the post of Director of the Nepal Oil Corporation, Purna Shanker BC as the General Manager of the National Trading Limited and Kumar KC as the General Manager of the Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company Ltd, added Minister Rijal, who is also the Spokesperson of the government. The cabinet has also to give consent of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Nepal Academy of Music and Drama and India´s National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama.
