Nepal jumped eight positions up in the latest FIFA ranking as published on Thursday.
According to the FIFA ranking published today, Nepal are at the 188th position among 209 nations.
Last month, Nepal were placed at the lowest position (196) since they were included in the ranking.
Nepal’s improvement was contributed to their two win over the Maldives and Sri Lanka and a draw against Bangladesh during the Bangabandhu Gold Cup.
Nepal’s final victory in the Gold Cup over Bahrain, however, was not included in the ranking calculation as the Bahrain team was the U-23 team, not the national one.
While Nepal were the worst performers among the South Asian nations last month, they have left Sri Lanka (189) and Bhutan (193) behind this time.
