Nepal-India border security meet begins in Pokhara

Nepali and Indian officials are holding a joint secretary-level meeting in Pokhara to discuss security-related issues on the open border between the two countries on Tuesday.

During the two-day meet, officials from Nepal and India will also discuss strengthening border management including number of issues related to smuggling of narcotics, counterfeit currencies and arms, illegal crossings and strengthening of border outposts, Laxmi Prasad Dhakal, joint-secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs informed.

A 15-member team led by joint-secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Hitesh Kumar Sab is attending the meeting from the Indian side while a 16-member team led by Dhakal is attending the meeting from the Nepali side.
