The Appellate Court Patan on Friday issued an interim order in the name of government and Nepal Army (NA) directing them not to procure Pashupati biscuits manufactured by Chaudhary Group.
The Appellate Court Patan has issued this order reasoning that the agreement between the Nepal Army and Chaudhary Group for the procurement of Pashupati biscuits is against the norms of tranparency and it contravenes the Procurement Act 2063.
A division bench of judges Til Prasad Shrestha and Sharanga Subedi has issued the interim directing the government and Nepal Army not to procure Pashupati biscuits manufactured by Chaudhary Group arguing that the agreement on the procurement of Pashupati biscuits has been reached in violation of the Procurement Act 2063 as it has been done without fulfilling the due bidding process.
Nepal Army has recently sealed the deal on procurement of Pashupati biscuits with the Chaudhary Group. Pemba Sherpa, promoter of a biscuits suppliers company, had filed a writ petition at the Appellate Court Patan against the NA’s procurement deal with the CG.
