Malaysian national missing in Annapurna for 13 days

The whereabouts of a Malaysian national, who had gone missing two weeks ago from Gorepani of Myagdi while trekking to Annapurna region, is yet to be established.

Though the trekking entrepreneurs and his family have been continuously searching for Dennis Lee (47), who had gone missing while heading towards Dandapani from Khopradanda, they could not find him yet, the Trekking Agency Association of Nepal informed.

According to Binay Acharya, Secretary at the TAAN Western Regional Association, Lee had gone missing from the region on March 30.

Ten international tourists including Lee had gone to the region for a trek through the Holiday Tibet Treks.

Lee who had taken a different route from that of his group had gone missing since then while rest of the other trekkers have returned safely, Acharya added.

Following the incident, Lee’s family members and Malaysian Embassy officials had come to Pokhara to search him.

The embassy had also announced a reward of Rs 200,000 for a person who finds Lee.
