The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has been making preparation to expedite maintenance and clean-up works of main roads and surrounding areas of the venue of the 18th SAARC Summit.
Nepal is hosting the 18th SAARC Summit in November this year.
The government has given responsibility to the KMC for the decoration of the surrounding areas of the Summit venue. The government has allocated Rs 687 million in the budget presented on Sunday.
KMC Environment Division Chief Rabiman Shrestha said they would expedite the works as soon as possible as the government has allocated the budget as per the plan.
He said that different areas including Open Theater, Shantibatika, Ratna Park, National City Hall and Rani Pokhari would be systematized targeting the Summit.
