Lumbini being decked up to welcome Modi

In view of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Lumbini during the 18th SAARC summit scheduled to be held on November 26 and 27, Lumbini Development Fund has expedited work to decorate Lord Buddha’s birth place.

Lumbini Development Fund Communication Officer Hari Rai said his office had started a clean up campaign to decorate Lumbini after they were informed of Indian PM Modi, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay’s plan to visit Budhha’s birthplace.

According to Rai, the prime ministers of India and Bhutan will visit Lumbini for one day while the Sri Lankan president will stay overnight in Lumbini. LDF has formed a team led by Project Manager Imansingh Moktan to complete the work as per the Lumbini masterplan.

Rai informed that work had been expedited to clean up the roads and ponds inside Lumbini. Likewise hoarding boards and banners will be put up to welcome the guests.
