Normal life across the nation was hit hard on Friday due to the banda (shutdown) enforced by Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist.

The hardliner faction from the former Maoist rebels has called the general strike against the 16-point agreement between the major four parties, preliminary draft of the new constitution and the India-China Lipulek trade agreement which the CPN Maoist terms a ‘dangerous interference’ in the national sovereignty.

Life in Kathmandu valley was affected by the Nepal banda since early this morning.

Educational institutions, shops, factories, business and private offices have been affected due to the general strike.
