A leopard barged into a house and injured two women in Lekhnath of Kaski on Wednesday night.

Jamuna Baral (70) and Rama Subedi (50) were injured after the wild animal attacked them at their Kholabeshi-based house at around 11 pm yesterday, the family said.

Subedi’s son Shankar said the leopard had entered the goat shed at first. When people tried to chase it away, it entered the house and attacked them, he added.

The injured women sustained wounds on heads, chests, hands and faces and are undergoing treatment at Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital.

Doctors have said that their condition is improving.

Shankar said the same leopard had devoured two goats some time ago.
