KMC managing garbage despite petroleum crisis

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has been collecting and disposing of garbage despite the shortage of petroleum products.

Chief at the KMC Environment Management Department, Hari Kunwar, said that although it is a little difficult to manage garbage during the festival time every year, they have been collecting garbage as the government made arrangement of petroleum products despite fuel shortage.

Kunwar said, “The KMC has been managing some 400 metric tonnes of garbage daily in the festive season against 350 metric tonnes at other times.”

The KMC has now been operating 40 vehicles daily against 70 for lack of petroleum products for the management of garbage. RSS
