Jet Airways plane makes emergency landing at TIA after colliding with bird

A Jet Airways aircraft coming to Kathmandu from Mumbai, India, has made an emergency landing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday, December 29, 2014, after colliding with a bird.

TIA Terminal Duty Officer (TDO) told nepalnews that a bird collided with the right wing of the plane (flight number 9W268) while it was nearing its landing destination.

According to Flight Radar 24, the aircraft that fled from Mumbai at 9:30 am made the emergency landing at 12:06 pm.

“All the passengers are safe, no one has been harmed. A bird collided with the right wing, there are no other technical reasons,” the Duty Officer said.

There were 125 passengers and seven crew-members on board.
