Students of Maharajgunj-based Institute of Medicine (IoM) clashed with police after they tried to padlock the office of Nepal Medical Council (NMC) on Wednesday. One student sustained injury during the clash.
The IoM students resorted to protest after the government failed to address the demands put forth by Dr Govinda KC till the 11th day of his hunger-strike.
The students had organised a rally which reached the NMC office where they tried to padlock the council office. The students chanted slogans demanding the government to address the demands of agitating Dr KC. They further demanded dismissal of NMC Chairman Dr Jageshwor Gautam among other officials.
A participant at today’s rally and IoM student, Suman Acharya, said that their effort to padlock the NMC office will carry on.
