ICC staff cut off audio line at CA media centre

The staff of Birendra International Convention Centre, which houses the Constituent Assembly, have cut off the audio line at the CA’s media centre on Friday.

They did so to exert pressure on the authorities to hike their allowances equivalent to the other employees under the Parliament Secretariat.

Besides the regular employees of Parliament Secretariat, as many as 90 people, hired by the BICC, provide service at the CA building.

They have warned of further agitation if their demands are not met by December 22.

After the government decided to raise the allowances to the employees under the Parliament Secretariat, the ones under the BICC also have been demanding that they be treated fairly and provided more allowances.
