Business people associated with the Janakpur Chamber of Commerce an Industry have started a hunger strike against “longer power cuts” in Janakpur, which they said has gone beyond the load-shedding schedule published by the NEA.
Beside longer load-shedding hours, low-voltage problem has also affected industrial activities. The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Friday expressed its solidarity with the hunger strike.
The apex private sector body said longer power cuts, against the load-shedding schedule, has not only affected industrial activities, but also the general people’s lives. It urged the government to settle the issue soon through a dialogue with the businessmen staging the strike.
