The examinations of grade 11 and 12 that was postponed after the Great Earthquake on April 25 have been rescheduled for next month.
A board meeting of the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) board on Monday decided to hold the examination of grade 12 and 11 from June 3 and 16 respectively except in seven surrounding districts of the Kathmandu Valley. The date for the examination in Rasuwa, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Dhading, Nuwakot, Dolakha and Nuwakot will be conducted in the second phase. According to Chaitanya Sharma vice-chairman at the Board said the examination in these districts is not possible to conduct at present as a majority of the examination centers have been destroyed by the earthquake and frequent strong aftershocks.
The Board on April 26 had postponed all the examinations of higher secondary schools indefinitely following the devastation of the earthquake. Earlier the examination of grade 12 was scheduled to begin on May 3 while the slated date for grade 11 was May 16. Around half a million students are studying in around 3,400 higher secondary schools across the country.
