The State Affairs Committee of the Parliament on Wednesday directed the government to tighten security arrangements during the festivals of Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.
Summoning Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bamdev Gautam at its meeting today, the House Committee directed the Minister to beef up security arrangements during the festivities.
Meanwhile, the Committee also directed the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies to manage smooth supply of daily consumable goods during the festivals.
The Committee held discussions with Minister for Commerce and Supplies Sunil Bahadur Thapa about special arrangements for festivals today.
According to Parliament Secretariat, the Minister was also directed to control black marketing and shortage of consumables.
The Committee meeting chaired by lawmaker Dil Bahadur Gharti also urged the Ministry to ensure smooth traffics during the festivals.
