Govt urged to build fast track‚ Nijgadh airport soon

The Development Committee of the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday urged the concerned government authorities to expedite works for the Kathmandu-Tarai fast track and Nijgadh International Airport.

The meeting of the Committee today directed the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA), National Planning Commission (NPC) and Investment Board to complete the constructions at the earliest.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure Bimalendra Nidhi, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Deepak Chandra Amatrya, MoPIT Secretary Tulasi Prasad Sitaula, MoCTCA Secretary Sharada Prasad Trital, NPC Vice-Chairman Govinda Raj Pokharel, acting Finance Secretary Rajan Khanal, Director General of the Department of Roads Devendra Karki and Fast Tract Project Head Satyendra Shakya were summoned at the meeting today.

The meeting also directed the MoPIT, MoCTCA and Ministry of Finance to submit updated reports related to progress in the projects on a monthly basis to the Committee, according to Parliament Secretariat.
