The government has decided to take responsibility for the education of children orphaned by the deadly earthquake. The Ministry of Education has started collecting data of such children who lost their parents in the recent disaster.
“The government has decided that whatever is the number of children orphaned by the earthquake, their education will be managed at SOS Children’s Village and incase of the lack of adequate seats, the SOS will be directed to increase its capacity,” said Education Ministry’s Spokesperson Hari Prasad Lamsal.
Likewise, the ministry has issued directive to the education al institutions to resume classes from May 30.
Meanwhile, the Education Department has announced to extend financial assistance ranging from Rs 75,000 to Rs 300,000 for the construction of Temporary Learning Center (TLC) to the schools of hardest hit districts.
