Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bam Dev Gautam sustained knee injuries as he slipped on the road while returning to Kathmandu from Sindhupalchok district today.
He had gone to inspect the landslide-hit Jure area boarding a jeep.
Gautam slipped while walking down a road section near Chautara of Kavre this afternoon, according to a family source.
He was rushed to a local health facility where he received five stitches on one of his knees that was hurt in the incident.
“His condition is normal. He returned to Kathmandu and went to take part in his scheduled engagements,” the source told THT Online.
The August 2 landslide in Jure had formed a grand lake which burst open yesterday.
